|Analyst bias:||Asian stocks edged lower at the start of the week, after US markets closed lower on Friday. On the trade front, Chinese companies are seeking tariffs exemptions as they make inquiries about buying US agricultural products after Donald Trump complained that China has not increased its purchases. China and the US are currently implementing the agreement reached during the G20 meeting last month though there are still deep differences between them with US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross cautioning that talks will be a ‘long involved process’. Elsewhere, Oil prices rally after Iran seized a British oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz on Friday while the UK government threatened Iran with ‘serious consequences’ and demanded immediate release of the seized tanker. For Eurozone, the next Prime Minister for UK will be announced on Tuesday with Boris Johnson being the likely candidate while European Central Bank will be releasing their interest rates decision on Thursday where they are likely to signal a rate cut and potentially additional stimulus to boost the economy.|
